Electric furnaces
Electric furnaces for table ware glass production
Heating principle:
In this deep electric furnace, glass batch is charged automatically on the glass level by means of a lover-type charger or a distributive-type charger with in/out boom conveyor. The charger can be equipped with two charging hoppers – separately for glass batch and cullet with weighing of each amount of batch and cullet. The melter area fully covered with batch blanket ensures a good thermal insulation of glass level.
The furnace is heated by sidewall entry molybdenum rod electrodes. The optimum spacing of the electrodes forms a thermal barrier dividing the melting area of the bassin into upper melting and glass-fining segment, and a lower stabilising segment.
The design of the heating system is mathematically modelled. The power supply for furnace heating is automatically controlled, and the flow rate of cooling water in electrode holders is continuously monitored.
The control system offers the following standard features:Storing and sorting of historical values measured, complete library of predetermined user screen displays, graphic imaging of measured values in trend screens, printing of user reports and alarm signalling.
In the furnace crown there are installed start-up air-gas (oil) burners that are also used as stabilising burners in case of short time power failures.
The melting end is connected with the working end by means of a submerged throat with a riser powered through molybdenum rod electrodes or tin oxide electrodes.
For the lead crystal glass melting, the glass tank bottom is equipped with draining equipment for molten lead tapping.
The working end is designed in accordance with customer’s requirements, and enables one to install forehearts and gathering bays of a number of various types.
The working end, foreherarts and gathering bays can be power heated or gas-fired (natural gas, LPG).
